In the Eyes of a Master: The Tree of Life – Gustav Klimt-Style in Gouache & Watercolor | One Day Workshop | Saturday April 13th, 2024 | 12:00pm-4:00pm | $80 + tax | 

Step into the Golden Age of the master painter Gustav Klimt.

Explore patterns and lines inspired by the master and his interpretation of Italian byzantine mosaics. Replicate his original gold leaf using modern materials.

Create a timeless tree of life image. Artists Wendy Ahlm and Stephanie West will guide you into owning your own work of art.

Materials to bring and/or purchase:

• One each silver and gold UNI POSCA Acrylic Paint Marker (thick or broad tipped or both) by Mitsubishi
• One white Gelly Roll 10 by Sakura
• One white Pencil by PRIMO®
• Eraser (Stephanie prefers a fresh Gum Eraser)
• 2 Round Brushes, small to large: 1 or 2, 4 or 6
• Metallic watercolor or gouache in a Gold, Copper, and Silver. Our favorite: FineTec Pearlescent Watercolors individual pans or sets.
• A ruler
• Small water spray bottle 
• Paper towels
• Optional: Something for a palette. We’ll bring paper plates, but feel free to bring your own palette, plate or butcher tray.

Winsor and Newton Professional Designer Gouache will be provided for in-class use:

• Professional Artist’s Designer Gouache by Winsor & Newton

  • Permanent Green Light
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Cobalt Blue
  • Winsor Red
  • Permanent White
  • Alizarin Crimson 
  • Ultramarine Blue
  • Permanent Yellow Deep
  • Cadmium Free Lemon

The following items will be provided by the instructors for in-class use:

• Two 8″x10″ sheets of BLACK Stonehenge Aqua Watercolor Paper 140 lb Hot Press
• White masking tape
• A variety of printed images for reference

NOTE – Please feel free to bring your favorite paints and brushes.
